The ongoing court case of Amber Heard and Johnny Depp has taken a sinister turn as the Pirates of the Caribbean star claims he has 87 videos showing her attacking him. Once one of Hollywood’s golden couples, Depp and Heard finally divorced in 2017 after she accused him of domestic violence.
The case is now available online as Depp takes Heard to court for defamation. It all relates to a 2018 op-ed in The Washington Post where she doesn’t directly name Depp, but refers to the domestic abuse allegations she first mentioned in 2016. In response to this, Depp launched a $50 million lawsuit against his ex-wife.
In the transcript, Depp says Heard’s claims as nothing more than an “elaborate hoax”. He goes on to flip the tables and accuse the Aquaman actor of being the abusive one. Depp alleges that she was abusive to him on multiple occasions.
One part reads, “Ms. Heard’s false allegations against Mr. Depp have been conclusively refuted by two separate responding police officers, a litany of neutral third-party witnesses, and 87 newly obtained surveillance camera videos.”
Depp claims that Heard frequently attacked him, threw a bottle of vodka at him and “severed [his] middle finger on his right hand and shattered the bones.” There is also reference to the now infamous incident where Heard maintains her husband threw a phone at her. Heard posted several shots on social media, blaming Depp for her badly bruised face.
The court document continues, “The interaction culminated with Ms. Heard making false allegations that Mr. Depp struck her with a cell phone, hit her and destroyed the penthouse. There were multiple eyewitnesses to this hoax.”
The scathing testimony says that Heard did all of this for her own benefit, referring to her as a “darling of the #MeToo movement”, it also mentions her position as the first actress to be named a Human Rights Champion of the United Nations Human Rights Office.
Attorney Eric M. George previously told Deadline: “This frivolous action is just the latest of Johnny Depp’s repeated efforts to silence Amber Heard. She will not be silenced.”
Bizarrely, Depp also accused Heard of sleeping with Elon Musk just a month after they tied the knot. Basically, things are messier than ever for the pair’s very public fallout. There’s no news on what Depp plans to do with these tapes, but it could be a damning piece of evidence if proven to be genuine.
